This kitchen is a recent dry fitted installation designed from our Horsham showroom by designer George Harvey. This kitchen makes use of German manufactured Nobilia furniture in a slate grey shade from the Stone Art range and a Havana Oak effect in the Structura range. The two door styles used in this kitchen complement each other extremely well, with the texture on both adding an element of depth to the kitchen. To create a contemporary space the handleless option has been used from both ranges, with a stainless-steel handrail used for access and LED strip lighting used to continue the modern dynamic.
This kitchen features a number of functional and aesthetic based design elements which are all easily integrated into a Nobilia kitchen. The first is a roll-up fronted tambour unit which utilises semi-transparent smoked black screening to allow easy access to items. Inside this unit lighting from the top of the unit has been used to create a dramatic space for storing items. This kitchen also uses two Havana Oak effect open shelving on both sides of the kitchen for additional storage of kitchen essentials and decorations.
A full range of Neff kitchen appliances have been chosen for this kitchen with the German designed appliances an extremely durable option for a family household. This kitchen utilises a Flexinduction hob, Slide&Hide oven, combination oven, warming drawer, extractor hood and a dishwasher that has been fully integrated behind a door in this kitchen.
One appliance that has really grown in popularity recently is a warming drawer. As you can see in this kitchen this 13CM warming drawer is the perfect dimensions to fit underneath the compact oven while still being in line with the Neff single oven to the side of it. Creating what is called a bank of units like this in a kitchen also helps to maintain the clean linear feel of a modern kitchen. The warming drawer itself has the capability to heat within a range of 30°C – 80°C and can hold a capacity of 12 dinner plates or a load weight of up to 25KG. The versatility of a warming drawer is what has made it so popular with it having the capability to defrost and even slowly cooking certain dishes.
One feature of this kitchen that is hard to ignore is the 20mm Silestone worktops, the shade Marengo has been used which is a deep dark grey shade with detailed black flecks. A huge piece of this Silestone quartz worktop is used on the six-seater island and on surrounding kitchen units where it is also used with an upstand. The worktops in this kitchen have had to be fabricated around several features in the kitchen but most noticeably perhaps the undermounted Blanco subline sink. The nature of an undermounted sink means that the bowl sits below the worktop and in this kitchen a Rock Grey coloured sink has been used to minimise the contrast between sink and worktop.
