This week has seen the unveiling of four new exciting worktop options from quartz worktop manufacturer Caesarstone in the form of their new Art of Darkness Collection. The new shades have been introduced to give customers darker options for kitchen worktops, a growing trend over the past year or so.
The four new colour options are inspired by nature, offering slate, stone and wood variants of the contemporary quartz-based worktops. Two of the worktops have been added to the Supernatural range, with one each a new addition to the Classico and Metropolitan respectively.

As the new addition to the Supernatural collection, the Empira black option is one that creates a dramatic backdrop to a contemporary kitchen space. This option incorporates fine natural veins for contrast between the deep black base of this worktop.
Black Tempal is one of the two new additions to the Metropolitan range. The Black Tempal option uses a rich charcoal like base incorporating mineral deposits and a veil of warm white surface veins. The deep colouring of this worktop makes it ideal for combination with a warm wood kitchen tones and dark cabinetry.
The Oxidian surface completes the two additions to the Metropolitan range, where it offers a rich dark grey undertone much like the previous Black Tempal option. Characterised as industrial thanks to added patina, the Oxidian option also utilises a unique oxidised russet effect which is unequally distributed to continue the industrial aesthetic of this surface.
The Piatto Black option is the final new surface and the only addition to the Classico collection. With its distinct matt finish the Piatto Black surface incorporates a rich and intense black colour option, accompanied by a fine granular close up appearance. Perhaps the simpler option of the four, this worktop is not to be overlooked when it comes to an impactful worksurface.
